About the role

The Manager Resource Recovery and Environment is responsible for the management of the Environmental Services, Landfill and Waste Services teams. The objective of this role is to ensure continual improvement of corporate responsibility and effectively manage the resources of the Resource Recovery and Environment functions, whilst contributing to Latrobe 2026 - The Community vision for Latrobe Valley.

Latrobe City Council is looking for a dynamic, strategic thinker who will achieve position objectives through strong leadership, clear direction, planning and excellent people management skills.

Key skills required for this role include;

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and diverse experience in both operational areas and management, or equivalent career experience.
  • Waste and landfill, environmental services and resource recovery knowledge, including the Victorian Government policy and strategy context for waste and resource recovery.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders to support successful project development and delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality written reports, policies, action plans, correspondence and other documentation as required.
